A Little bit About me Blog

Hello Everyone,

I have decided to create a blog to link to all my socials to keep my lovely customers (new and old), in the loom (pardon the pun).

A little introductory, my names Megan and I am the business owner of The House Of Cotton.

The content creator, The administrator, The financial advisor, The bookkeeper, The blogger (as of this very minuet) and last but not least, The designer, Pattern cutter and Seamstress. Who knew having your own business had so many roles! But the love for it is definitely worth it.

Just a touch on the past and how I actually got here today. I have always been in the fashion industry since the age of sweet 16, starting college to complete a Fashion and textiles course which then led me on to getting a Degree in Fashion Design a few tough years later.

I then went to work for small independent international designers which led me to creating looks for London Fashion week and magazine editorials.

I later worked for an alterations company, I learnt so much about garment construction and instantly had a love for tailoring and tapering.

Skipping the last few years including working for a Clothing brand and everything else in between. I am now The House Of Cotton, which came from accidentally gaining work through word of mouth and just coming to an end with maternity leave. This is where it all begins.

I always love new starts, there's something so fresh and innocent about the beginning. The unknown and the risks but most of all the love for what I am doing and the flexibility this venture gives me to work around me and my little family, my reason.
